Flash, Unbrick, Upgrade Windows Phones: Windows Phone IDT Method

Windows Phone Image Designer Tool is one of the few Windows phone servicing tools that are being used to flash and unbrick Windows phone. However, this tool only works with Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 mobile phones.

If you need to flash, upgrade or unbrick older or previous Windows phones other than Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, you will need to use Windows Recovery Tool here or Infinity Nokia Best.

How to Flash Windows Phone Using Windows Phone Image Designer Tool

1. Download and extract Windows Phone Image Designer Tool on your Windows PC. You can download from A B C PSR Suit folder or from here.

2. Locate Windows Phone Image Designer Tool folder (where you extracted it) on your PC and open the driver folder to install the program and appropriate drivers on your PC.

From the driver folder, locate and run installsimpleio.bat

3. Download your Windows phone stock/factory firmware. You may download Windows phone firmware from here.

4. Now, connect your Windows phone to the PC via its compatible USB Cable.

5. Open Windows Phone Image Designer Tool folder to locate Start.bat and run it.

NOTE: Windows Phone 32bit users should go to: Windows Phone Image Designer Tool > 32 >> Image Designer >> Start.bat. Windows 64bit users should be looking into: Windows Phone Image Designer Tool >> 64 >> Image Designer >> Start.bat.

6. Hold on for a while while Windows Phone Designer Image UI is launched. On a full launch, you will be presented with a screen similar to this:

7. Select Flash a Windows Phone Image onto your phone then, click the Next button.

8. Click Change.

9. Now, from the the Window that opens, browse to the location where your Windows phone firmware is saved and select it. It should be a .ffu file.

10. Now that your Windows phone firmware/factory image is loaded, click Flash button.

11. You may now sit back and relax while Windows Phone Image Designer tool flashes the firmware on your Windows phone.

When Windows Phone Image Designer Tool completes flashing the phone, you will see Congratulations! Your device has been successfully flashed with the image you selected. and by that, your job is completed!

Flash and Unbrick Qualcomm Android Device: QcomDloader Method

QcomDloader is a simple light-weight Windows utility tool for servicing Qualcomm android devices. QcomDloader is used only to flash and unbrick Qualcomm android devices and nothing more.

Flash Qualcomm Devices with QcomDloader Tool: Step by Step Guides

1. Download and extract QcomDloader tool from your ABC PSR Suit folder or download it from here. Learn about PSR Suit here.

2. Download your Qualcomm device unbrick file. If you are a PSR Suit susbcriber, you may request for your Qualcomm device unbrick file at the ABC Lab here.

3. Now, open QcomDloader folder (where you extracted QcomDloader) file on your PC. Open USB Driver folder to install Qualcomm drivers on your PC by double-clicking the setup file.

NOTE: SKIP this step if you have already installed Qualcomm drivers on your PC.

4. Once Qualcomm drivers are installed on your PC, you may now connect your device to the PC via its compatible USB Cable.

5. Double-Click QcomDloader.exe (within the folder) to launch the program.

6. On full launch, QcomDloader should display a GUI similar to this image:

7. Click the Load button then, navigate to the folder where your Qualcomm stock firmware/unbrick file is saved on your PC.

8. Click Settings. From the window that shows up, click Erase Download and select Upgrade from the drop-down options.

9. Now, click/mark/tick the Validate Downloaded ROM box.

NOTE: check to confirm that prog_emmc_firehose_8936.mbn, rawprogram_unsparse.xml, and patch0.xml are written as the ones contained in your firmware folder otherwise, rename the fields/files to match the ones in your Qualcomm device firmware folder.

Example;

Some Qualcomm flash and unbrick tools such as QFIL sees rawprogram_unsparse.xml as rawprogram0.xml. Simply rename the file to match with QcomDloader param as seen in the image above. Also, Rename your prog_emmc_firehose_8936 as appropriate.

10. In the chipset field, enter your device chipset. Don't know your chipset? It's easy. If your eMMC programmer file is prog_emmc_firehose_8210.mbn then, your device chipset is 8210.

11. Now, save your device configuration on QcomDloader by clicking the OK button.

12. You are now set to initiate the flashing operation. Click Start to start Flashing/loading the firmware on your device.

13. Once you see [Received] Passed displayed on QcomDloader, your Qualcomm device has just been flashed successfully.

Built with a very simple UI, SUT (L3) is a small Windows PC utility tool that can be used to flash stock firmware on Intel CPU (Intel powered) android devices. SUT stock firmware flash tool can flash intel android devices firmware with .nb0 as in the case of Lenovo (and others) or .xml as in the case of Asus (and others) file types.

Here, I discuss the step by step process involved in flashing stock firmware on android devices built on intel CPU.

Flash Intel-Powered Android Devices Using SUT (L3) As A Flash Tool

1. Download and extract SUT Tool from your A B C PSR Suit folder from here. The folder contains both the necessary drivers and the SUT tool itself. Make sure you download the latest tool in the folder.. See details about PSR Suit here.

2. Open the folder where SUT Tool is extracted on your PC. Locate setup.exe or launcher.exe, (depending on the version you downloaded) and double-click it.

3. Once double-clicked, Windows InstallShield wizard will start and install both SUT (L3) application and drivers on your PC all at once.

4. Locate SUT iCon on your desktop. If it's not there, check C:\Program Files\SUT (LX) where X equals the figure of the version you downloaded.

5. Now, power-off your device.

6. Download your device Stock ROM, usually in .nb0 or .ffu with .xml file map.

7. On SUT (LX), click Next to continue.

8. Now, click [...] (browse button) and navigate to the stock firmware file, depending on the version you downloaded, it should be either .nb0, .ffu or .xml file.

9. Now, select Emergency Download Process just below the update options.

10. Connect your android device to the PC. Remember to Power Off the phone.

11. SUT should detect the phone and commence the flashing operation almost immediately.

12. Once the flashing operation is complete, SUT will display PASS status message. You may now close SUT and disconnect your phone from the PC.
