The New iPhone 6S, 6S Plus Preorders Expected To Surpass 10Million Units In It's First Weekend.

Apple's newest smartphone iPhone 6S and 6S Plus has just hit the market and expectations are very high on whether the new babies are going to surpass the 10 Million units sold in first week of the latter smartphone iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

However, reports on Monday states that there has been a robust preorders for the latest iPhones and that online demand for the 6S Plus was "exceptionally strong" - Trudy Muller an Apple spokesperson told press.

Based on the number of preorders, Muller said  Apple is "on pace" to surpass last year's initial sales when it moved 10 million units of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus during their first weekend of availability (including more than 4 million preorders during the first 24 hours). That was double the initial weekend sales for the iPhone 5.

Last wednesday when the smartphone was launched, we learnt Apple's official website was down for over an hour due to massive traffic and online orders but the actual number of preorders received have so far not been disclosed, only an estimate has been revealed by Wall Street Journal.

Apple will start shipping the iPhone 6S & 6S Plus that's been pre-ordered via their website from September 25, the iPhone 6S comes in minimum 16GB and the highest is still 128GB which is selling for $649 and $849 respectively.

Did you pre-order and what's your expectation ?

BlackBerry Q10:

Date of Release:
30 Jan 2013

Now in my previous post on difference between Blackberry phones, this one seem to amaze me because there isn't anything specially different between both of them excerpt the size. One report claim the reason why BlackBerry thought about this smartphone was due to high demand from customers who finds it hard very hard to SWIPE on BlackBerry Q10 and Z10.

Obviously the price for BlackBerry Q20 won't be as expensive as Q10 when it finally arrives since it's called a "CLASSIC Smartphone" bringing back the track pad should be affordable.

Choose wisely.

E.U Finally Approves Facebook on buying Whatsapp for $19Billion Dollars.

Months back we read about the news that FaceBook founder Mark Zuckerberg and its Board of directors purchased the number one text messaging app Whatsapp for $19billion dollars but it looks like the transaction was withheld up until Friday(03-Oct-2014) when Reuters broke the news that the European Union has finally approved the purchase.

First thing that could have popped up on anyone's mind is "Why Do They Need Approval ?"... Well according to a reliable source  the deal was on hold because the EU felt it would harm communication telecom market...Here's what they have to say..

"We have carefully reviewed this proposed acquisition and come to the conclusion that it would not hamper competition in this dynamic and growing market. Consumers will continue to have a wide choice of consumer communications apps," European Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said.

Although in the United States back in April Facebook had already gotten approval to acquire Whatsapp less than two m,onths after Facebook annouced it's proposal in February.

WhatsApp and its rivals such as KakaoTalk, China’s WeChat and Viber have in recent years won over telecoms operators’ customers with a free text messaging option, posing a serious threat to the sector’s revenues from this business, which totalled about $120 billion last year, according to market researcher Ovum.

Hands on People: iOS 8 coming with WIFI calling to any number. Rogers, T-Mobile confirms.

Reports reaching us explains that Wifi Calling has been enabled in the coming iOS 8 software for iPhone, iPad devices. This feature will allow customers to make phone calls without using a cellular connection. This feature is actually for users who are on a low voice minutes and also allowing roaming overseas without Sim. But if you're thinking BBM Voice, you're wrong because this feature is somewhat limited in the sense that depending on your phone carrier their are certain policies that comes with this feature.

One user comment from imore.com explained it....Read his comment below
There seems to be quite a bit of confusion and misinformation out there regarding Wi-Fi Calling. From what I can tell, Wi-Fi Calling DOES use your monthly pool minutes. See T-Mobile's FAQ here: http://t-mo.co/1tGbG7b which says, "Calls made from the US to US numbers use plan minutes" and Rogers' here: http://roge.rs/1iROGNa which states, "Any voice usage within Wi-Fi coverage is applied against voice minutes allocated in your existing wireless voice plan."
It's great that it will improve call quality and reliability in areas with weak cell network signals. For some people, that will be huge. But If you have a limited amount of plan minutes per month, Wi-Fi Calling will not help you extend those minutes.
P.S: This comment applies to Users in the US per se.

Telecommunication giant who confirmed that has confirmed this feature will roll out once the iOS 8 is fully launched are T-Mobile (a U.S. carrier) and Rogers (in Canada). T-Mobile was first to confirm this tho.

But one question still remains is this feature activated on iPhone/iPad without carriers (well ofcourse it should ?).

Rogers in Canada has stated it will support the feature when it debuts, in a statement provided via email to iPhoneinCanada.ca:
We’ll support the iOS 8 Wi-Fi calling feature when it becomes available in Canada. In the meantime, Rogers customers using the Rogers One Number service on their computer, tablet or smartphone can already make calls over Wi-Fi. They can video chat with other Rogers One Number users or call any Canadian number for free, no matter where they are. For more info on Rogers One Number http://Rogers.com/OneNumber.

Other carriers like Telus and Bellare are yet to update us whether they'll be supporting this feature as well.

What If iPhone 6 Looks Just like this ? | IPhone 6 Mockup - Pictures.

iPhone 6 is coming really soon and i wish this could just be the new iPhone 6 design and this is really cool.

With speculations going round, the official release date for iOS 8 is this fall(2014) and right now a beta version is available for developers but the sad thing is iPhone 4 down to iPod Touch won't be having iOS 8.

Reports also claim Apple won't support those devices anymore as they'll be focusing on iOS 8, iPhone 6, The new headphone Beats by Dre and also their Home Appliance feature.

Spectranet Nigeria now offers almost Unlimited Data Plan - See 2014 Prices.

Like it or not internet cost in Nigeria has been drastically reduced with this new subscription plans from Spectranet.

Please note I'm not here to compare data plans of any network coz that's just wasting of time, all i'm here to do is detail all the subscription plan been offered by Spectranet who was ones an UNLIMITED ISP before they were sanctioned by Jealous ISPs.

*This plans are strictly for Lagosians yet
      .

To get started you'll need to buy any of Spectranet internet devices and then subscribe to any of the plan above but there's a trick and i'm going to expose it and give a recommendation.

If you notice, there are 4 different devices you are to choose from i.e:

1 Single User Dongle LTE Freedom,
2 Multi-User Hub CPE LTE Surf n Talk,
3 Portable Multi-user Mifi LTE Lifestyle,
4 Fixed Outdoor Unit LTE Outdoor

My recommendations are(depending on what you want to use the dongle for)

      Are you a loner ?
Then Option 1 is for you

Do you have a laptop, a noisy internet freak friend, an android/ios phone that sucks all your mobile data bundle all because of update?

Option 2 is for you coz you can connect to 5 users and they all run on the same speed.

Option 3 is just the same as option 2 the only different is that its mobile, meaning it comes with battery and you can have it put in your pocket while its fully charged.

Option 4 is for Small business owners that are in need of an internet connection(i can't recommend a home user buying this coz its waste of money).

Now here's the trick, the dongle prices vary 17,000, 14,000 or 11,000 which still depends on what data plan you choose although it's only applicable to new users(now that's trickish!)

For example: If you want the 24/7 plan worth 7,000 and you want the Multi-user Hub CPE lte Surf n Talk then it's going to cost you 11,000 to buy the dongle but if you choose the 24/7 plan worth 4,000, you are forced to buy the same dongle for a whooping 17,000! that's ridiculous. However the Spectranet team also discovered that since you can't afford a higher data plan then you better stick to the Single user dongle worth only 7,000

Anyways this is really awesome compared to other ISP in Nigeria extorting users off their money rendering provocative services!

Kindly drop a comment if Spectranet isn't that bad after all!

UPDATE: Spectranet Nigeria Is Rolling Out New Plan March 2016 - Could Be Hurtful to Your Pocket.

      Leaked: Amazon First Mobile Phone(Photo).

Here's anexclusive picture of the first Amazon Mobile smartphone, leaked by an insider and thanks to BGR for letting it out. Though this just gives me an Apple feeling they might face a lawsuit for actually design cloning.

But i think its classy atleast when it officially gets into the market in the coming weeks, folks who like Apple design and they can't afford it here's a seconder. Sadly it's not global i guess on in the US.

The device is said to be coming with a 2GB of RAM, 4.7-inch display with 720p HD resolution, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, six individual camera modules and a highly customized version of Google’s Android operating system similar to the one seen on Amazon’s various Kindle Fire tablets.

      Funny comment...

IPhone front, Android back, Samsung home button, and Amazon Logo centered perfectly up to on the back. Now talking on the phone will remind passers-by that they need to shop on Amazon instead of going into retail stores. Oh yeah, store clerks will now look at you funny when start price checking while walking down an isle.

Difference between Samsung S5 and HTC One M8.

HTC seems to be gearing up for a breathtaking smartphone that could take the Samsung S5 off market but we'd like to check out some of the specifications and features it promises to bring. Although the Samsung S5 is around the corner and making huge success and the M8 will start selling in few weeks globally.

Samsung for sure are always ready for the competition since their biggest challenge is to beat Apple devices but unfortunately for the mobile phone manufacturer there are more brands to beat than just Apple products. We'll be checking out the difference between this Samsung S5 and the new HTC One M8, though they both have significant differences.

On a first look, the HTC One M8 will just take you away coz it's stylish with the aluminum unibody, a Sense 6 UI while the Samsung S5 it's all about the features, water-resistant chassis, 16MP mega pixel camera, built-in fingerprint scanner and a heart rate sensor. Like we already know, the description about S5 is something we can say is similar to the iPhone 5 and 5s right?

HTC One M8 and HTC One - Similar Design

Moving further.... Check out the specifications below and i'm just going to make BOLD what an average user will easily notice when checking out a phone specs.

Category Samsung Galaxy S5 HTC One (M8)
      Dimensions 142.0 x 72.5 x 8.1mm 146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35 mm
      Weight 145g 160g
Colors Shimmery White, Charcoal Black, Copper Gold, Electric Blue Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver, Amber Gold
      Display 5.1-inch, 1080p Full HD SuperAMOLED 5.0 inch, 1080p SuperLCD3
      CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor
      2.5GHz (MSM8974AC)
      Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor
      2.5GHz quad-core CPU in Asia/China (MSM8974AC)
      2.3GHz quad-core CPU in US/EMEA (MSM8974AB)
Platform Android 4.4 with TouchWiz Android 4.4 with HTC Sense 6, HTC BlinkFeed
      SIM Card Type microSIM nanoSIM
      Internal Storage 16/32GB + microSD up to 128GB 16/32GB + microSD up to 128GB
      RAM 2GB 2GB
      Camera 16MP (rear), 2.0MP (front)
      4K video
HTC Ultrapixel Camera + Duo Camera (4MP)
F2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens
      5MP front-facing camera
      1080p video
      Battery 2800mAh removable 2600mAh non-removable

There we have it... In a recap, the HTC One M8 seem heavier than the S5, the S5 is .1 inch wider, both running the latest Android 4.4. Talking about memory allocation/RAM they are the same, Battery life the S5 will do more than the M8 however speculations have it that the Samsung S5 battery drains fast when on camera while it's removable the HTC One M8 is none removable like the iPhone. Lastly the Camera, now you might be thinking why did i skip it for battery, i just wanted to clear things out before you start going for the S5 because of the bogus 16MP camera pixel.

The 4MP Camera Ultrapixel is a new technology exclusive to HTC, technically speaking it's a New age feature that i think is better than Samsung S5. Check below pictures of places snapped using both devices.

Now compare the pictures above, it feels like the S5 bleaches the pictures and it adds more color than normal. I can relate the fact that the S5 brightens and uses the lighting and stuffs but can't it be an optional feature. I'm just curios.

Anyways if you don't understand how the HTC Ultrapixel works and meaning here's your chance.

      Meaning of HTC Ultrapixel ?

The new HTC One will be the first to feature the HTC UltraPixel Camera - an advanced imaging technology that offers a great leap in the quality of point-and-shoot photos and video. Smartphones have rapidly become the primary camera for millions of people, and taking pictures has become an indispensable part of daily life. HTC is committed to offering the highest quality camera available, so even everyday pictures are gratifying and memorable.

With our new camera, you’ll be able to quickly shoot vivid, true-to-life images with a wide range of colors, even in low light conditions. We accomplish this not by increasing the number of megapixels in the camera, but by engineering a more advanced CMOS Sensor, ISP, and optical lens system that captures significantly more light than most 8 or 13 megapixel cameras.
