Boost your device’s display with Textdroider

Improve your device’s screen density, or shrink your UI to squeeze more content on screen...
When you think about the quality of your device’s display, you should be thinking about screen density, not resolution. Screen density is a ratio of resolution and screen size, measured in dots per inch (dpi). The higher the dpi, the smaller each individual pixel, which means greater clarity and a  more detailed display.

The Textdroider app lets you improve your device’s display by increasing dpi. You can also create a zoomed-out effect by lowering your display’s dpi, which allows you to fit more content on screen and can be used to bring a tablet feel to Android smartphones.

Although Textdroider is straightforward to use, it can cause your device to go into a bootloop or encounter other errors. For this reason it’s essential you create a full backup so you’ll have something to restore if your device goes haywire.

Steps:-

1. Download Textdroider

Textdroider can cause your device to go
into a bootloop, so do a full backup before you start. Once you’re fully backed up, download Textdroider DPI from the Google Play Store. Launch the app. Read the on-screen warning, and then tap ‘I get it’ to proceed.

2. Change your dpi

The main Textdroider DPI screen displays your current dpi; in the screenshot above, this is 480 dpi. To change your dpi settings, tap the New DPI field and enter a new value. Tap the Apply button. Confirm that you want to change your device’s DPI by tapping Yes.

3. Reboot Your Device

Grant Textdroider superuser permissions when prompted. After a few moments, ‘DPI after reboot’ will be updated to the new value. The new setting will only be applied upon reboot, so tap Textdroider’s Reboot button, and confirm by tapping Yes.

4. View Your New Screen

Once your device reboots, the new dpi
setting should be in effect. However, there’s a chance your device will show an error message and refuse to boot properly. If this happens, you can fix it by booting into your device’s custom recovery and restoring your last backup.

5. Stuck in a bootloop?
Textdroider may also cause your device to go into a bootloop. If this happens, then once again the fix is restoring a backup. Alternatively, if you’re familiar with the Android Debug Bridge (adb) that comes as part of the Android SDK, you can fix this issue using adb commands.

6. Push And Pull

Attach your device to your computer and use adb commands to adb pull /data/data/
com.texdroider.texdroider_dpi/files/backup/build.prop from your device and onto your PC. Then, adb push this file onto your device so that it overrides the /system/build.prop file.

Samsung’s new flagships debuted at MWC 2016. We take a look at what’s under the hood

After weeks of leaks, teasers and speculation, Samsung finally revealed the hotly anticipated Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The two new flagships add some new features and, intriguingly, bring back some that were missing from the S6, notably microSD expansion. While the announcement of the S7 and S7 Edge may have been slightly overshadowed by the surprise presence of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg at Samsung’s Gear VR presentation, there’s still plenty to get excited about with Samsung’s new phones. Design-wise they’ve taken a slight departure from the standard Samsung model. There’s no white colour way this time round; instead there’s a choice of black, silver or gold (a colour that really seems to be having a moment in mobile design), although overall there’s a strong resemblance to the S6.

Recipe :- Chocolate porter cake

The un-iced cake will keep for up to 2 days in a container in a cool place. It will keep frozen, wrapped in cling film, for up to 1 month.

Ingredients:-

• Sunflower oil for greasing

• 260ml porter (we like St Peter’s
Old-Style Porter)

• 250g unsalted butter

• 100g dark chocolate (70% cocoa
solids), chopped into chunks

• 50g cocoa powder

• 200g caster sugar

• 200g soft light brown sugar

• 2 large free-range eggs

• 150g full-fat Greek yogurt

• 2 tsp vanilla bean extract

• 280g plain flour

• 2½ tsp bicarbonate of soda

FOR THE TOPPING

• 200g full-fat cream cheese (we like
Philadelphia)

• 80g icing sugar

• 200ml double cream

YOU’LL ALSO NEED…

• Deep 23cm loose-bottomed cake tin

1 Heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas 4. Grease a deep 23cm loose bottomed cake tin and line with baking paper. In a large pan, gently warm the porter, butter and chocolate until the butter and chocolate have melted.

2 Mix the cocoa powder and sugars in a large bowl, rubbing away lumps. Pour in the chocolate mixture gradually, whisking well using a balloon whisk, then add the eggs. Whisk until it’s thick and smooth, then whisk in the yogurt, vanilla, flour and bicarbonate of soda.

3 Pour the batter into the lined tin and bake for 1 hour or until a skewer comes out clean. Leave for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool.

4 Meanwhile, in a large bowl, beat the topping ingredients with an electric mixer until the mix just holds its shape. Swirl the icing on top of the cooled cake.

PER SERVING (FOR 16) 464kcals,
26.6g fat (16.5g saturated), 5.8g
protein, 48.4g carbs (34.6g sugars),
0.5g salt, 1.4g fibre

Quick Guide:- How to get your Android Devices speed boosted without Root Access

Speed up your touchscreen with this easy to use app that doesn’t cost a thing

A lot of the apps that speed up your Android device require root access. If that’s not something you’re comfortable or familiar with, then your options can feel a bit limited. The Super Touch app doesn’t require you to have a rooted device though and it does some pretty impressive things without you needing to have much, or really any, technical know-how. All you will need to get things up and running are your Android device and a Wi-Fi connection. The app isn’t a huge download and it walks you through a lot of what you need to know. Unfortunately, the translation isn’t great, so we’ll guide you through the process. It shouldn’t take you very long to get things sorted and while there are a few fiddly bits that might require a little more attention, with a bit of perseverance you’ll soon be swiping around your Android phone or tablet with the sort of speed and grace you didn’t think was possible.

“It does some pretty impressive things without you needing to have much really any, technical know-how”

Steps:-

1. Download The Application

First up you will need to grab the app from the Google Play store. It looks like this and it’s not a particularly large download. It shouldn’t take too long to install on your Android device and when it has done, you’ll open it up to a brief tutorial across a number of different screens.

2. The Easy Tutorial

Swipe through the first screens as though you were flipping through a book – there’s about three of them. Have a read and you’ll come to a screen that explains things in a little more detail. The first time you see this, it will have a button marked Advanced at the bottom.

3. Tap the Advanced button.

Hit the button marked Advanced and you will be taken to another menu. Here you will be able to fi nd out whether your device is powerful enough to run some of the much more interesting features that are available on the app. If it is, you can tap to get them up and running.

4. If you go back

The Advanced Settings link in the drop-down menu will now always tell you that you have enabled those settings, so you can pretty much ignore it for the rest of your time with the app. It does include a help email address if you want to suggest tweaks to the app.

5. Head back to the menu.

When you have set up the Advanced Settings, go back to the main menu. Now tap the button that starts up the smoothing process. You will see a pop-up window that shows you the progress. If your phone is likely to lock in a couple of minutes, then turn off that particular setting.

6. Start it off

Once the progress bar has filled up, you will see another pop-up window. You can scroll down and read about some of the changes you have just made. When you’re done tap Start and Share. You don’t actually have to share anything, but the app does give you the option to.

7. Start the battery save

When you have Smooth Touch up and running, you can engage the battery saving options as well. Rather than giving you a list of options, the app controls everything for you. Tap the button and it will set it up automatically. You can quickly turn them off with another tap.

8. Is it enough?

If you find that the default setting isn’t powerful enough to actually make that much of a difference to your swipes and taps, then you can slide the marker further up the scale on the main page to make the touchscreen more sensitive. This will turn off Super Touch though.

9. Start it again

When you’ve selected the sensitivity you would like, tap the button to start up Super Touch again. Follow the same process as before, preferably avoiding locking your screen and then check to see whether the new sensitivity level suits you. Repeat as many times as you’d like.

⭐key Features / Advantages⭐

  • Change sensitivity

In the middle of the screen there’s the slider that lets you adjust the sensitivity of your touchscreen gestures. It’s set to 190 by default, but you can alter this by moving the slider either to the left or right. It goes up to 9,999.

  • Stay unlocked

Tapping the Start Smooth Touch button will begin setting up your phone for the new process. It’s best if you don’t lock your screen when this is running, as it can interfere with what the app is trying to achieve.

  • Main menu

This is the main menu page of the app. It contains most of the things that you’re going to need to play around with. In the top-right corner, there’s a menu that opens up advanced options and an About+help section too.

  • Save battery

The Battery Save option underneath the Start Smooth Touch button lets you quickly set up some power-saving options that tie in with the speed-up touch. They’re not massively detailed, but we will have a look at them in the main body of the tutorial.

Walkthrough: Assassin's Creed Unity #59 (Seq 9 Mem 1: Starving Times)

Casio's New Smartwatch Has A One Month Of Battery

ETA Spring ’16

Only a brave soul would ride the river rapids, hike through the mountains or nip to the shops in a torrential downpour with an Apple Watch strapped to their wrist. Yet, if you choose to wear the gigantic WSD-F10 instead, you could confidently do all of these things. Casio’s first Android Wear smartwatch is as rugged as they come – a far cry from the firm’s rather more brittle, spongy-keyed calculator watches of the Eighties. Designed for people who love the great, weather-beaten outdoors, it has been tested to military standard specifications (MIL-STD-810G if you must ask) and it also comes with apps specifically designed for
trekking, cycling and fishing. More able to survive the fiercest of conditions than most of us, it’s water-resistant to 50 metres and, while it has a cool yet power-zapping 1.32-inch touch-screen colour display, it’s also built to last. Change it to monochrome mode and it will stay powered for as long as a month. We reckon that will buy you enough time to navigate out of any situation.

Key Features:-
  •  Smart and strong

The watch has a pressure sensor, accelerometer, gyrometer and compass, and it can also cope with sudden shocks, vibrations, humidity, extreme temperatures and low and high pressure

  • Easy to operate

There are three chunky power buttons, including one for tools, such as the pressure sensor, and one to display Android apps. They can be operated while wearing your gloves...

  • Different colour watch faces

There is a range of different colour watch faces for outdoor use displaying altitude, temperature and more. Be warned, using the colour LCD will eat your battery within a day

  • Metal body
The waterproof body of the watch is made of metal and the strap is rubber. It feels very robust and comes in one of four different colours.

This watch will cost around $500 when it becomes available in April in Market.

Walkthrough: Assassin's Creed Unity #58 (Seq 8 Mem 2: September Massacres)

Check every part of your car with Your Android Devices...

You can now manage your car in ways only mechanics used to be able to...

There are few things in life, in terms of cost, that are more unpredictable and harder to manage than running a car. Whether you want to check for fault codes, manage fuel consumption or simply ensure that you are driving in a way that keeps the engine in perfect condition, it can be tricky to even know where to start.

However, we have an answer and all you need is an Android app and a cheap accessory to see everything that is happening with your car over long periods and in real time. The power of Bluetooth means that you can leave the app running while you drive and every data point will be logged accurately – even more importantly, you can retrieve fault codes that could save a costly trip to a mechanic. We will show you how to set everything up and you will likely be surprised at just how easy it is. When you have finished reading this, you will have full control over your car.

1. Buy the accessory

To check data on your car, you will need to purchase a Bluetooth-enabled OBD2 reader. Do your research to locate where the port is in your car and then look for a compatible reader. They can be purchased very cheaply and most cars will support the functionalit.

BUY NOW @

2. Download an app

For this tutorial we are going to use Torque Pro, which is available on Google Play. There are a variety of options available for checking car data, but we can recommend this one as being reliable and fully featured. Download and install the app to continue with the setup.

3. Attach the reader

Turn the ignition so that electricity is going to the engine and then insert the reader into the port. This will mean that it has power to be able to pair with your Android phone and set up a valid connection. Now turn Bluetooth on to start the connection process.

4. Make the connection

Once the reader has been discovered by your Android device, it will be listed with an obvious name in the Bluetooth settings screen. Tap it and then enter the PIN that is included in the instructions that come with the reader. It will now connect and confirm it is successful.

5. Open the app

Open Torque Pro where you will see a main screen that should show the reader is now connected and working. Tap the cog icon and then select Vehicle Profile to begin adding the information for your car. Try to be as accurate as possible for the best results.

6. Check your fault codes

Tap Fault Codes on the main screen and then let the app thoroughly read your engine. This may take some time for the process to complete, but be patient as it will be worth it to see how you can stop issues that could potentially turn into expensive problems in the future.

7. Read the results

The ideal situation will be to see ‘No fault codes stored in ECU’, which means that everything should be running fine. In reality, most cars will pop up some errors over time and the majority will not cause problems later on. Modern engine sensors are extremely sensitive.

8. Real-time information

Go back to the main screen and tap Real-time Information to bring up a series of dials. These will display the exact state of various aspects of your engine and a simple test is to depress the accelerator to see the Revs change immediately. It’s a very impressive setup.

9. Change the dials

Tap and hold any dial to bring up new options that will let you change the size, display type, title and even maximum and minimum allowable values. You really can customise every single aspect of the real-time information feature so that it suits your exact needs.

10. Manage graph data

The graphing feature lets you log data in real time and in a visual form. The logging can be saved and exported for later, and the actual results are impressively accurate throughout. They are particularly useful for checking engine performance over extended periods.

11. Map Your Routes

When you tap Trip View on the main screen, you will see a familiar mapping display appear. If you leave this enabled, your journey would be tracked in fine detail for you to check later. Everything from the route to the speeds are covered visually and through accurate data points.

12. Take It Further

In Test Results, you can see summaries of each part of the engine that has been tested. Some of these merely offer a description where as others can be tapped to bring up much more detailed data that can be read, ideally in the hands of a trained professional.

13. Install Some Plugins

A quick search on the Google Play store for Torque Pro Plugins will bring up a myriad of options that can be used to enhance the tracking and real-time experience. Everything from new themes to gear change apps are available to give you almost unlimited possibilities.

Enjoy The Pro Driving Experience...
