Phone Tips: Meaning of Twitter Photo tagging and How to stop any user from tagging you.

So as to make things look nicer and engaging, microblogging site Twitter announced on Thursday(27-March-2014) that it has officially rolled out two different new features to its users(iPhone and Android).

The Two features are...

(1) Tagging up to 10 people in a photo by searching for them by their name within the app. plus “If you’re the one being tagged, you’ll get a notification. You can adjust notifications, as well as who can tag you, in your settings,” twitter added.

(2) Users can share up to 4 photos in a single tweet.

With the above new feature, by default did you know your twitter privacy settings has been loosed to anyone and everyone for tagging. See below screenshot.

But isn't it annoying that if you aren't learned enough and keeping up to date to twitter news, your twitter account is potentially unsafe(to unwanted tags) due to the default settings that has been made? Well according to Twitter official here's what they had to say to defend their motive for making it a default "Allow anyone to tag me in photos"

For the privacy-minded, it’s worth noting that the default setting Twitter has decided on is to allow anyone to tag you in photos.

However quite a number of users disapproved the motive, but anyways the deal is done you just have to manually adjust the settings. :-)

How to stop anyone from tagging you on Twitter Photo tagging.

Goto your PC/MAC >> Open your browser and type http://twitter.com (make sure you are logged in) >> Click this link Twitter settings  >> Goto select Security and Privacy and just under the Privacy choose either "Only allow people i follow to tag me in photos or Do not allow anyone to tag me in photos".

Thats all have a safe twitter photo tagging experience!

Few Reasons why you shouldn't Jailbreak your iPhone 4 iOS 7.1 Tethered.

There are various reasons why people love to jailbreak their iDevices, however it is also important to know that there's a Tethered Jailbreak and Untethered Jailbreak(tho this is stale coz almost every iPhone users already know what these are all about).

In a short form to explaining what this jailbreaks are(Please note this is for Beginners)

  • A Tethered Jailbroken iPhone is a process whereby you have to power on your iDevice by connecting it to a System(PC or Mac) using a Software e.g Evasion, Geeksn0w and the rest out there. Plus you have to put it in a DFU Mode(meaning Device Firmware Update) Because the moment you jailbreak your iOS and you allow it to turn off, it automatically goes into Recovery Mode. Paralyzing the iPhone until the above compulsory action is done and it could be very frustrating.
See screenshot below....

After the above is successful the screenshot below should be the response from Geeksn0w software, also take note about your iPhone as it flashes on and off.

  • An Untethered Jailbroken iPhone, even without saying a word you should already know that this is the real isshh. I mean no hassle, no stress no nothing! just jailbreak and move on. Turn on and off your iPhone no Probs at all.

Haven't said that now let's go to the main topic:  Reasons why you shouldn't Jailbreak your iPhone 4 iOS 7.1 Tethered yet.

Today i finally took the risk of Jailbreaking my iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1 the tethered version and i just gotta say i'm not impressed. Basically the jailbreak works fine but the moment i started making some customization to it, it starts malfunctioning...

My iPhone 4 started rebooting and shutting down, i had to go DFU mode like forever! and why was this happening? it's coz most of the apps on Cydia weren't designed for iOS 7.1.

The following apps are currently not working on iPhone 4 iOS 7.1 Tethered Jailbreak.

  1. SBSettings: It installs perfectly but just wont work because it has been designed to work on iOS 7.0.6 and not iOS7.1.
  2. Winterboard: Won't respring after you apply a new theme.
  3. Hiddensettings7: Not working

So my best advice is that you should stick to your Jailbroken iPhone iOS 7.til Untethered version comes because apparently this bugs might persist until an Untethered Jailbreak comes to life on iOS 7.1. On this note Jailbreak your iPhone 4 iOS 7.1 at your own risk.

The only thing i currently love about the jailbreak is the Metro 8.2 themes working with 'Dreamboard. It's sooo cool. A windows 8 mimic brilliantly designed.

Winocm unviels iOS 7.1 JailBreak Untethered for iPhone 4.

Previously there has been an authentic way to jailbreak your iPhone 4 but it's only Tethered version. Well apparently now it seems there's a leak somewhere that the same iPhone 4 now has an Untethered Jailbreak and we seem to have proof.

Here's a video snippet uploaded on youtube by RMSiPhone displaying an iPhone 4 that has been jailbroken untethered

One of the trending question about the video which even a blind person could notice was that, the video did not show us any Cydia Icon, which makes people think it's still probably on a test run. Let's not forget that the jailbreak works only on devices equipped with Apple's A4 chip for now which includes the iPhone 4, the 4th generation iPod Touch, and the original iPad but leaves out any of their successors.

The picture below shows a jailbroken iPhone 4 powering up in untethered mode.

Another picture below shows that the jailbreak indeed works on an iOS 7.1

And lastly the picture below shows the user shutting down the fully Untethered iPhone 4 (perhaps because the battery was low lol).

Above all, this Jailbreak hasn't come out yet and we hope by this week iPhone 4 or A4 Chip devices should anticipate for the Jailbreak process. For iPhone 4s,5,5s and Apple A5 chips ya'll can wait till a possible Jailbreak comes out(Atleast i learnt there won't be any jailbreak for them because the hackers and programmers e.g Evaders, iH8snow, Winocom aren't working on it basically coz they said they are keeping an eye on iOS 8 coming out this summer).

Pod2g, a member of the Evad3rs development team behind the Evasi0n jailbreak told iDigitalTimes that “there is a big chance the evad3rs won't focus on [an iOS 7.1 jailbreak] as a team…expect that for iOS 8.”

You read it here. :-)

How To Install The iOS 7.1 Jailbreak For iPhone 4 using Geeksn0w.

While we wait for Evasion 7 developers to help create the iOS 7.1 Untethered Jailbreak, here's a Geeksn0w tool that can help you jailbreak your iPhone without much stress.

UPDATE: There's now an Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 Click here for How-To steps

Simply follow this steps...(PS: this procedures are for learned people who know about Jailbreak. And this process is strictly for iPhone 4 (GSM/CDMA) users plus it's a Tethered version meaning you should never allow your iPhone 4 to go off permanently else you'll have to use a laptop to wake it up.)

Ok lets proceed...

How To JailBreak iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1 ?

Requirements:
  • This jailbreak is tethered! This means that whenever your iPhone 4 will be switched on after a power off, you will not be able to boot properly. After a few seconds it will lock in Recovery Mode. To turn it on without errors, you will need to connect it to your computer and use the "Boot Tethered" of GeekSn0w.

  • Supported devices:
  • iPhone 4 GSM (3,1)
  • iPhone 4 GSM Rev A 2012 (3:2)
  • iPhone 4 CDMA (3.3)
What do we need?
  • A computer with Windows operating system
  • GeekSn0w 2.5 ( download )
  • . Freamwork NET installed
  • One of the devices supprtati
Procedure:
  • First, extract the zip archive of GeekSn0w on our Desktop and inside we will find the file "GeekSn0w 2.6.exe" we'll have to run as administrator
  • Once this is done, you will see a screen graphical interface GeekSn0w, now connect your iPhone 4 to your computer and click on the button "Jailbreak"
1
  • The program will ask you what model of iPhone 4 is in our possession (you have to choose 3.1 / 3.2 or 3.3)
2
  • Once you have selected this, Press the Jailbreak button to begin the process (fully automatic)
  • You will be asked to set your iPhone 4 into DFU mode (Device Firmware Update mode, to do this, just hold down the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds, at the end of the latter, release the Power button while continuing to hold only Home button until GeekSn0w respond.
3
  • Now we have to wait. GeekSn0w will begin to work, and after about a minute, you will see "Rebooting Device" and your iPhone will be rebooted for the note.
8
  • You will then be asked to set up for the second time your iPhone into DFU Mode, proceed using the very same procedure as before and you will notice that once you start the DFU mode correctly, GeekSn0w will go to step "Booting with opensn0w"
9
  • Also finished this step, your iPhone operating result, but despite this, DO NOT UNPLUG your iPhone 4 for any reason, until Geeksn0w has finished, but will be in step "Waiting for the device to be ready (this will take a lot)
  • Even if everything seems to be stopped or blocked, do not panic, this is normal, after about three minutes your iPhone will reboot and you will be asked for the last time to put it into DFU mode.
10
  • Followed by another "Booting With Opensn0w." To its success, GeekSn0w will show "Done!" And your iPhone will reboot
12
  • Perfect! now you'll notice your homescreen now has Cydia, you just have to open it and start to install all your favorite tweaks!
10) BOOM!!! Your iPhone 4 iOS 7.1 has been jailbroken(Tethered Way)!

We only hope for an untethered version from Evasion 7 guys and i have a feeling they cooking something!
Chao!

UPDATE: There's now an Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1 Click here for How-To steps

Flappy Bird Crashes on iOS 7.1 iPhone 4.

Yesterday(March 17 - 2014), marks the first week of Apple's new iOS 7.1 and i just gotta say it's a really good OS. I mean it's performance has been so great(tho on iPhone 4). However ever since this update i just noticed Flappy Bird which happens to be working perfectly on iPhone 4 just started crashing for no reason.

Let's take a recap, remember Flappy Bird was removed from Appstore due to certain issues and allegations surrounding the App, well i think i'm been sarcastic about the App crashing perhaps because the new iOS 7.1 was intentionally built to disrupt Flappy bird.

Most of the other apps i installed before the new update works perfect... Anyone having a crashed app too?  Whilst you drop your comment, here's a brief  info about FlappyBird!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Platform(s)iOS, Android
Release date(s)May 24, 2013
Mode(s)Single-player
Flappy Bird is a 2013 mobile game, developed by Vietnam-based developer Nguyễn Hà Đông (Dong Nguyen) and published by .GEARS Studios, a small, independent game developer also based in Vietnam. The game has a side-scrolling format and the player controls a bird, attempting to fly between rows of green pipes without coming into contact with them. The developer created the game over several days, using a bird protagonist which he had designed for a cancelled game in 2012.
The game was released on May 24, 2013 but received a sudden rise in popularity in early 2014. It was criticized for its level of difficulty and alleged plagiarism in graphics and game mechanics, while other reviewers found it addictive. At the end of January 2014, it was the most downloaded free game in the iOS App Store. During this period, its developer claimed that Flappy Bird was earning $50,000 a day from in-app advertisements.
Flappy Bird was removed from both Apple's App Store and Google Play by its creator on February 10, 2014, due to guilt over what he considered to be its addictive nature. The game's popularity and sudden removal caused phones with it pre-installed to be put up for sale for high prices over the Internet. Games similar to Flappy Bird became popular on the iTunes App Store in the wake of its removal, and both Apple and Google have removed games from their app stores for being too similar to the original. The game has also been distributed through unofficial channels on multiple platforms.

Discontinuation

On February 8, 2014, Nguyen announced on Twitter that the game was to be removed from both Apple's App Store and Google Play, writing: "I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore. "He went on to say that taking down the game has "nothing to do with legal issues". The game was removed from both Apple's App Store and Google Play exactly on cue. After removing the game, Nguyen's Twitter feed received abuse from fans unhappy at the decision, who threatened to murder him or commit suicide.
Following the removal, many media outlets reported several merchants on eBay were offering phones which had the app pre-installed for US$1499 or more, with some receiving bids of over $90,000; however, the listings were removed for violating eBay's rule stating smartphones must be restored to factory settings before being sold.
In an interview with Forbes, Nguyen cited the game's addictive nature for its cancellation, stating: "Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed. But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it's best to take down Flappy Bird. It's gone forever." Nguyen said that the guilt he felt over the game was affecting his sleep, and that his conscience was relieved after he took the game down.
In a March 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Nguyen refused to rule out re-releasing Flappy Bird, on condition that it would come with a warning to "Take a break".

iOS 7.1 Update is a Trap, Do not Update Unless you want to Forfeit your Jailbreak.

March 10 - 2014 was the date Apple released the first official iOS 7.1 although developers/users already premiered the Beta versions up till Beta 4.

Now here's the thing, the reason why i said you shouldn't update to iOS 7.1 is because you'll end up having an iPhone/iPad that can't be Jailbroken(atleast for now) based on the recent developments on the new OS

It took me a while before laying my hands on apple product because of this so called Encrypted data issh, let me not bug you, but i just want you to know the fundamental reason i think staying glued to your Jailbroken iOS is better than updating.

Today i downloaded some .ipa files to install on my iPhone 4 and it was successful on my iPhone so suddenly i just decided to Update to the so called anticipated iOS 7.1 and BOOM! the apps disappeared.

I checked my iTunes apps and they are still right there, i tried re-installing them and Yes! it installed but wheres it on my iPhone ? No where. So i went to research if i can just Jailbreak it and i found out it's not possible plus i can't even downgrade :/ .

Here's the latest news on Jailbreak for iOS 7.1 and i was dismayed. From Evad3rs Official website
Evad3rs team confirmed, that Apple closed all vulnerables for Evasi0n7 utility. You can't make Jailbreak 7.1 on iPhone 5S, 5C, 5, 4S, iPad Air (5),4,3,2 and iPod Touch 5-Gen. Jailbreak 7.1 for iPhone 4 coming soon. Wait confirmed links.
Though i got happy when i found out there's a jailbreak for iPhone 4! However it's still not official, i eventually found out again that there's absolutely no difference in the iOS 7.1 with it's predecessor iOS 7.0.6. According to reports, updating to iOS 7.1 will only make more sense when you're using iPhone 5 or 5S.

Jailbreaking is sweet, Apple shouldn't kill that vibe!

New Nokia-X Android Comes with an Extraordinary Featured called FASTLANE a feature Nokia promises not to share.

Basically when Nokia X first premiered for the world to see, I personally did not like the outcome coz I was in anticipation to see an almighty Android device from a legendary Mobile Tech Company but my anticipation was cut short.

Nokia's new Android smartphones "The Nokia X line" was created for the emerging markets, and so I wasn't too surprise to see this part of designs.
The basic Nokia X phone costs 89 euros ($122) and has a 4-inch screen, measured diagonally, and a 3 megapixel camera. A X+ version with an SD storage card costs 99 euros, while an XL with a 5-inch screen and 5 megapixel camera goes for 109 euros.

However what I want to share today is the thing that got my attention back to Nokia and its Android formation.
Now let's talk about the FASTLANE®! Feature...According to a writer for ibnlive dot com below are what he wrote about Nokia X Fastlane® and you'll come to agree.
First he pointed out the home screen on Nokia X resembles the one on Nokia's Windows-based Lumia phones, even though it's Android underneath. But Nokia Corp. added a Fastlane feature, a screen with quick access to your most-used apps. You get to it by swiping from the left or right edge of the home screen or tapping the back button at the bottom.
I have found the Fastlane feature to be a good start, It's something I would like to see on more phones, including Nokia's Windows devices but Nokia doesn't plan to make Fastlane for its Windows phones, and I doubt it'll extend it to rival Android phones, such as Samsung,Techno, HTC(tho this company already has its own feature). It's something Nokia® wants to keep exclusive to its own phones to compete.

The nice thing about Fastlane is that you don't have to spend any time on that. Your favourite apps are just one swipe away - sort of.
The top of Fastlane shows you what's coming up, whether that's alarms about to ring or future events in your calendar. Below that are your recently used apps. The ones you just used will be at the top, so you don't have to scroll down.
For some apps, you get information that normally comes with notifications, such as previews of text messages or alerts that three people have tried to reach you on WeChat, a Chinese social network. You see small versions of recent photos and can tap for the larger version in the photo gallery app. You see calls you missed, songs you heard and websites you visited.
It could get overwhelming, so you can block certain apps and certain notifications from appearing in Fastlane. In the settings, you can also add a shortcut to one social network, such as Facebook or Twitter.
That's where Fastlane can improve - understanding better which apps I use most over a period of days or months and creating a section at the top for those.
This week, for example, I was too busy to check Facebook, but that doesn't mean I don't use it regularly. But in Fastlane, Facebook would drop toward the bottom in a matter of days, unless I happen to choose it as my one shortcut.
Why not make sure the most-used apps are stored as favourites at the top of the screen? Nokia says it's considering that.
Likewise, if I haven't used something for months after using it daily, Fastlane can assume I've grown tired of it and automatically remove it. Myspace anyone?

Wow a very brilliant write up from the writer, and to this note Nokia won my heart back! When its out and I get my hands on it...We'll discuss more!
