Re: I'm a bit sarcastic about this statics, which means third quarter this year(2014) Whatsapp might reach a billion users globally (since we now have Facebook connect? 50% in disagreement tho.

Anyways Whatsapp will still remain as a messaging app but it could go more socially than it is(or boring than we expect).
Now considering the fact that WhatsApp has around 50 employees in total, makes sense seriously. A notable statement from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg described WhatsApp's services as "incredibly valuable".
