Facebook Finally Bought Whatsapp for $19billion?

Facebook.com popularly known as the largest Social Networking site just bought messaging app "Whatsapp" for a whooping $19Billion dollars in cash and shares.

The deal I believe was sealed few hours ago, however the $19 billion will be spread as follows, $4bn in cash and approximately $12 billion worth of Facebook shares, plus an additional $3 billion in stock to WhatsApp's founders and employees at a later date.

WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum will become a member of Facebook's board of directors automatically.

Apparently the last deal Facebook ventured into was in 2012 buying photo sharing app Instagram for $1Billion(including other benefits).

WhatsApp Inc. was founded in 2009 by Americans Brian Acton and Jan Koum (also the CEO), both former employees of Yahoo!. And Whatsapp primary goal is to take away traditional SMS text messaging from telecoms Industry, and it feels good making Facebook apart of it.

But the thing is Facebook is only doing this because they need to get back up, I mean people(when I mean people I mean Youth) they be like Facebook is out dated, I rarely come on Facebook but the truth is whether or not you come on Facebook, they are still making their money.

Now culled from BBC In a statement announcing the deal, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg described WhatsApp's services as "incredibly valuable".

He described it as "INCREDIBLY Valuable" not because Whatsapp boast of over 400million active users daily, or is it the 1million new registration daily. Its coz whatsapp is the only app that charges a token $1 (One Dollar) a year subscription(in which even a 5 year old can donate lol).

Well much said, let's see what FaceBook will bring to life in Whatsapp soon.

Congrats to Brian and Jan Koum, becoming Silicon Valleys newest Billionaire!
